34 Scouts, 3 Siblings, and 19 Adults Walk with the Dinosaurs!

Pack 966 once again had the largest group at the Arrowhead District Annual Day Camp Aug. 4-6.  This year's theme was Walking with the Dinosaurs and Scouts participated in 15 sessions over the three days.  The activities at each station ranged from Fishing, Archery, and BB-Gun Shooting to building bird feeders, volcanoes, and banana boats!  If you asked the scouts what was their favorite activity, most said Archery or BB-Guns, and day camp is the only place scouts can earn those two belt loops.  But they all liked taking a shot at our Cubmaster, Paul Zaher, in the Dunk Tank!  The water was very cold that morning!  If you would like to see more pictures from day camp, please sign into your account and click here.

We would like to thank all the adults who volunteered their time and patience to walk with our scouts and keep them on task.  Everyone had a great time and are already talking about next year.

We also would like to thank Mary McNitt for the hard work she put into designing both the Day Camp Tee-Shirt logo and the patch.  Every scout from Simon Kenton Council who attended Day Camp this year received a tee-shirt and patch both of which are a Pack 966 original!  That adds up to over 20,000 scouts!

Pack 966 Scouts who attended day will receive their patches at our first Pack Meeting on 9/23.  We look forward to seeing all of you again and starting another great year of scouting here at Pack 966!

4th of July Parade a HUGE success

Pack 966 Leaders and parents, I wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of the people who helped make Saturday's parade such a huge success. It absolutely could not have worked without your time, energy and support! I've thanked Marcus several times for his big idea and all of the work he put in designing the float, putting together the audio components and getting the supplies (like the rocket tube, confetti cannons and the fogger). He was the first to point out that he has lots of big ideas but it couldn’t have become a reality without everyone's help. Bob - we also owe you for the use of your driveway, house and fridge along with the amazing decals that really brought the entire float to life. Thanks! Also, we need to collect some good pictures for our website and for our BSA contest entry form. If you have any pictures, you can email them to me or Marcus (marcus.wuebker@gmail.com) or save them to a flash drive and I'll pick them up. I am also going to put together a DVD that will include footage from my camcorder along with some of the official footage from WOCC. Let me know if you have any additional video footage that I can include. I noticed that the rotary club included a photo of our float on their home page (http://www.rotaryclubofwesterville.org/). The This Week Newspaper photographer walked with us for a while. I haven’t found any pictures of the parade on their site yet. Hopefully we'll see something in the upcoming print edition! Here is a video of the float shot and edited by Julie Wuebker of the launch that took place in front of the library. And here is what the Westerville Suburban News and Public Opinion had to say... Again - thanks for all you do to make this the greatest pack. Paul Cubmaster@westervillepack966.org

Our Pack has really grown over the last two years and we are in the need for new committee members to help organize and make the Pack Go! Our committee meets every first Sunday of the Month at Old Bag Of Nails (Uptown Westerville) at 7PM. Just one hour of month helping with the details of making the Pack go is sometimes more than enough! If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please contact Paul Zaher, Cub Master by phone at (614) 523-1651 or email.
