Join Pack 966 for Hiking Club! We’ll be exploring some well-known and off-the-beaten-path hikes around Central Ohio all year long. We’ll be taking time to learn about hike preparation and map reading as well as local geology, topography, and ecology.
While COVID-19 health directives are in place, we will follow our COVID-19 protocols.
As Cub Scouting is a family activity, parents are strongly encouraged to hike with their Scout on their own if families cannot meet with the Pack during scheduled outings.
We will be logging our miles throughout the year. Our Pack Goal is 300 miles! Parents can email cubmaster@westervillepack966.com to log their Scout's miles.
There are six items every Cub Scout should have with them during every hike or campout:
First-aid kit: Band-aids, moleskin, gauze, antibiotic ointment, etc.
Water bottle: Re-usable container filled with enough water appropriate for the situation
Flashlight: For emergency use only
Trail food: A snack to keep up energy
Sun protection: SPF-30 or greater sunscreen and/or a hat
Whistle: For emergency use only
