Save the Date! Simon Kenton Council Cub Scout Virtual Camp has been scheduled for July 6-10, 2020. Details and registration will be released soon!
Pack 966 and 197 will be co-organizing Cub Scout Resident Camp participation at Muskingum Valley Scout Reservation (MVSR) on July 23-26, 2020. This camp has been reviewed and approved by the State of Ohio and Coshocton County in accordance with the directive reopening day and resident camps.
Camp fees are $125 per Youth and $50 per Adult. There are no late fees.
June 12 - Deadline to RSVP (and commit) with the Google Form.
June 19 - Deadline to register and pay. Those who RSVP and commit this week will be given a link/username/password to register and pay next week.
We will only organize camp for Webelos Den 7 and AOL Den 8 Scouts. We are not opening up to the rest of Pack 966 despite MVSR offering programming for all ranks. There are numerous virtual camp options for all ranks and the Pack remains committed to providing programming to the best of our ability this Summer.
No carpooling; Each family will be responsible for dropping off/picking up their Scout to and from MVSR at 16905 County Road 271, Coshocton, OH 43812. This is an approximately 70 minute drive. We do not yet know what time we will arrive/depart to/from Camp, so plan to be available the whole day Thursday/Sunday. Drop off/Pick up will still be coordinated as a unit, so we will likely meet at Mark Twain and have a wagon train. To adhere to social distancing, unit registration will be coordinated by MVSR and we will be given a specific timeframe for arriving/registering as a group.
Scouts will be required to tent alone or permitted to tent with immediate family only.
All attendees will wear masks.
Families must RSVP by the end of day Friday, June 12, 2020.
Families must complete camp registration and payment by the end of day Friday, June 19, 2020.
Families must complete camp registration with the Pack as a unit through the event registration parent portal. Families registering independently from the Pack will not attend or participate with our unit.
Families must provide completed BSA medical forms parts A, B, and C (requires doctor signature) to the Pack by the end of day Friday, July 10, 2020.
Families must attend the mandatory parent meeting; Scouts must attend mandatory Camping 101. At this time, these are planned to be virtual, but we are hopeful that we may be able to hold them in-person if restrictions are eased in the coming weeks.
Mandatory minimum two registered adult leaders per Den.
Adults are permitted to attend camp with their Scout. All adults attending camp must complete YPT and provide a certificate of completion to the Pack by the end of day Friday, July 10, 2020.
